Our second day in Vegas started as any girl's trip should - with a little pampering at the spa!
Followed by breakfast at Society, an amazing restaurant located inside the Encore led by Chef Kim Canteenwalla. The Chef overindulged us with his hospitality, quickly setting the tone for the rest of the day.
He started with pretzel bread with Dijon butter. I have to learn to make these!
Followed by a berry smoothie:
And sticky buns with caramel sauce:
Then a tomato tasting with tomato bisque, heirloom tomato salad and burrata cheese:
Followed by an egg white frittata:
And deconstructed yogurt parfait:
And, to celebrate the birthdays, a tower of chocolate ganache cake:
Say it with my - Holy Food Coma Batman.
Help us pick our new puppy!

Getting Over It
Well, I'm finally home from my weekend of ruin. Vegas, the city of sin, plunged me deep into the pit of one of the most vile "7 deadlies" of them all - Gluttony.
I wish I could tell you that I bounced out of bed and raced to the gym each morning while away. I wish I could tell you that I bravely met each meal with self control made of steel, impenetrable by olive oil, truffle, fresh pasta, sticky bun, pretzel, champagne induced forces. I wish I could say a lot of things, but I can't.
After arriving home yesterday carrying luggage filled with loathing, self-pity (oh and a new pair of shoes and a sparkly, cute Nanette Lepore dress), I set out to come to grips with my weekend of excess, move beyond beating myself up, and get back on track.
But before I share how I plan to get refocused (more on that tomorrow), I figure it is better to come clean with you on what has led to my skinny jeans retiring temporarily to the back of my closet.

What Happens In Vegas (Day 1)
What happens in Vegas, comes home with you in five pound chunks attached to your thigh.
After checking in at Encore, we met up with the girls for lunch at Botero, where I managed a simple but tasty Salmon Nicoise salad.
After a little sun at the pool, it was time to get cute and head to dinner. But first, there was champagne.
I had heard about a Thai restaurant in Las Vegas that the locals know about, off the strip, and in a very unassuming location. Supposedly, it is one of the best Thai restaurants around, so, with little information I described what I remembered to the Encore concierge and after awhile, she steered us to Lotus of Siam. Let me tell you, with all the incredible dining in Vegas, I will make a point of going back to Lotus next time I am in town. Here is where the Gluttony really starts:
I did not realize before going that the restaurant had won a Wine Spectator Award of Excellence. Their wine list was massive and after a bit, settled on a bottle of Cask Cabernet from Rubicon Estates.
And then, there was the food! SOM THUM (Thai papaya salad)-This classic dish from Thailand consists of green papaya, chili, tomato, crushed peanut mixed with lime juice, fish sauce and sugar.
Sea Bass with Ginger- Steamed Sea Bass topped with our special brown sauce and ginger. Serve on the top of steamed vegetable.
Yellow Curry with Chicken: The mildest among all Thai curries made from curry powder, turmeric and spice with coconut cream, potato and carrot
PAD THAI with Pork-This dish is stir fried with egg, green onion, bean sprouts and chopped peanut.
My plate runneth over!
But I still managed room for Mango with Sticky Rice.
