The E.T.M. Strikes Again

Every Saturday at 9:00 a.m. Michael and I head to the E.T.M.'s gym for an hour Boot Camp session with sometimes up to a dozen other weekend warriors.  This morning, I made sure I went prepared with enough energy by balancing out breakfast complete with carbs, protein and fat.

This morning's mini breakfast bowl consisted of Fage, Berries, Ezekiel cereal and a little Agave.

I could eat peanut butter like ice cream and love a toasted slice of Ezekiel bread with PB right before a workout.

Good thing, too.  It was an intense hour mixing cardio, core, legs and arms.  Our Saturday workouts are a big part of my fitness routine and something I do with Michael which makes the shared torture that much more bearable.

Mike (the E.T.M.), gave Michael, me and the rest of the gang the option to stop 8 minutes early to do some stretching.   We all universally agreed that we wanted the punishing to continue so for the remainder of our time we did 30 second rapid intervals of "Prisoner Hops", band work, and jumps on the Bosu.  By the end of the hour, I felt great, energized and ready for the day!

After a workout like this one I'm usually needing some type of snack within about an hour.  I munched on this Greens SuperFood bar filled with lots of antioxidant rich foods like:

Organic Dates, Organic Cranberries, Amazing Grass Green SuperFood (Organic Wheat Grass, Organic Barley Grass, Organic Alfalfa, Organic Spirulina, Organic Spinach, Organic Chlorella, Organic Broccoli, Organic Acai, Organic Maca, Organic Carrot, Organic Beet, Raspberry, Organic Rose Hips, Pineapple, Organic Goji Berries, Green Tea, Organic Flax Lignans, L. Adidophilus, Alpha and Beta Amylase, Protease, Lipase, Lactase, Cellulase, Organic Peppermint), Organic Cashews, Organic Agave Nectar, Organic Cashew Butter, Organic Pumpkin Seeds, Organic Sunflower Seeds, Organic Almonds, Organic Cranberry and Raspberry Flavor, Organic Vanilla Extract.

Workout?  Check.  Now off to meet Becki for lunch!
