Where'd The Day Go?

Michael had to leave pretty early this morning for a trip to D.C. but we were able to sneak in a little breakfast at Cosmos Coffee Shop in La Mesa before heading for the airport.  I sipped on an ice coffee and ate half of an egg sandwich with avocado and tomato on whole wheat sourdough.

I always get a little sad when I'm dropping someone off at an airport, especially when it is Michael.  Though, I have to admit, I have a week full of secret girl rituals planned since I'll be alone at home with Hunter.  But more on that later!

After dropping Michael at the airport I headed to the gym for Kickboxing.  As I jumped out of the car I looked down at my feet and noticed two things 1) I really need new shoes.  These have seen two half marathons and countless classes and have seen their last leg (pun intended).  And 2)  I really need a tan.  My legs are so pale!

It was so hot in the gym today and the air barely felt like it worked.  The sauna they call the aerobic room had all of us sweaty and exhausted after the class.  It was time for another iced coffee and a mid-morning snack.  I'm really happy to see Starbucks carrying healthy options like Two Moms In The Raw.  I like these bars in a pinch although there is a flavor in them I can't put my finger on.

The better part of the day was spent getting ready for the week ahead.  I did wind up back at Ken and Jolee's tonight for Sunday Salad night.  Jolee made a wonderful, healthy salad dinner with chicken, avocado, peppers, onion sprouts, carrots, tomato, and crispy prosciutto.  A perfect, light way to end the weekend.

Rita tried to get us to drop a piece of chicken but she was unsuccessful.  She can be insistent for such a tiny dog!

I'm off to bed as 6:00 a.m. and training with the E.T.M. is going to come way too early.  This week we start our Fitness & The Foodie Win it Wednesday giveaways.  Be sure to tell your friends to subscribe for their chance to win some fun fitness, health and gourmet foodie treats!
